Where can I get prices?

Can my Engel be used as a refrigerator?
Yes, all Engel freezers can be used as either a freezer or a refrigerator.   You can control the temperature by a thermostat.

How much heat do they produce?
Very little heat is produced - Engel compressors are very efficient.  The actual heat given off, is less than half a typical light bulb. 

How long does shipping take to reach me? 
If you are purchasing from a stocking dealer please contact them directly.  The MT60 model only ships by road freight (truck).

I have an AC/DC model - can I plug both power cords in at the same time?
Yes.  If both cords are plugged in, and AC power is available then it will automatically cut off the DC power source.  If the AC is disconnected, then the DC power will resume powering your unit.

Will my Engel make ice, or freeze ice cream?
Yes, Engel models will make ice, or freeze ice cream (except the Engel 30 - this will only make ice).  You need to freeze to 10°F, or colder.

How long will my Engel take to freeze ice?
Your Engel will freeze to about the same temperature of your home freezer - therefore it will take about the same time.  Actual time varies depending on initial water temperature, volume of water used, how many times the lid is opened etc... Typically it should take about 2-3 hours to freeze a tray. 

How long will me Engel keep food frozen after I switch it off?
The answer depends on too many variables - such as out side temperature, weight and type of frozen food, wind speed, sunlight, starting temperature etc.
Essentailly, the Engel's ability to keep food frozen, and its insulation properties, are similar to a very good quality cooler box.

Can I 'build in' my Engel freezer?
We do not recommend this practice.  The area around the compressor needs to be ventilated - warm air needs to escape, and cooler air needs to be able to replace it.   With this in mind, we suggest leaving a space of at least 2 inches all around the unit - especially near the compressor vents.

How long does it take to cool down?
In only a few minutes you will feel the sides of the freezer cooling down.   Most units will reach refrigerator temperature within about 1/2 hour.  Maximum freezing temperature only takes 1-2 hours longer!  Our competitors 3-way models take several hours just to reach refrigerator temperature!

My Engel is a DC only model - How can I run it off household AC power?
You should purchase a power supply of at least 5 Amp rating.  We recommend using only the power supply made by Coleman (Model # 5232E640T).  Order it directly from Coleman Customer Service: 1-800-835-3278.  You simply plug your Engel power cord directly into this unit, while it is plugged into 110V AC power.
